The state of abortion law in America today

During Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor's confirmation hearings, Sen. Tom Coburn asked her about the state of abortion law in America today -- and Sotomayor answered incorrectly (or at least very misleadingly).

In a new piece published in Public Discourse, Matthew Franck explains in detail the actual state of U.S. abortion law, imposed by the U.S. Supreme Court in Roe v. Wade, Doe v. Bolton and subsequent rulings: abortion must be allowed for any reason at any stage of pregnancy.

Franck's entire analysis is well worth reading.
